Medicago sativa, Fabaceae. First 7 were taken in Australia, Jan 2009. Others were taken July 26, 2020, MSU Farm near Jolly and College, East Lansing, Michigan, USA.

Flowering Almond, Flowering plum, Chinese name is 榆叶梅（plum with elm leaves)

Angelica gigas， Apiaceae. Also called Danggui in China. I saw many bees foraging on this flower and many were sluggish and seemed to be drugged....some chemicals in the nectar?

Prunus armeniaca, Rosaceae. Apricot, Armenian plum, ansu apricot, Siberian apricot, Tibetan apricot. I took these photos in Jilin, China. Apricot is an important fruit in China.

Stokesia laevis, Asteraceae. Common name is Stoke's aster or stokesia.

Symphyotrichum novae-angliae, Asteraceae. Commonly known as the New England aster, hairy Michaelmas-daisy or Michaelmas daisy. Blooms near frost or after frost in Michigan.

Campanula persicifolia grandiflora, Campanulaceae. Common name: Japanese bellflower, common balloon flower, balloon flower, peach Leaf bellflower, and Chinese Balloon flower.

At least two species are presented. Tilia cordata, and Tilia tomentosa, family Tiliaceae. Also called linden trees, they are excellent sources of nectar for honey bees. Basswood honey has a hint of mintiness near the end when you taste it, generally colored water white to slightly amber and will crystallize easier than other honey.

Tetradium daniellii, Rutaceae. Blooms first as male flowers then 2 weeks later as females, both sexes attract many honey bees. They provide both nectar and pollen.

Begonia spp, Begoniaceae. Provides pollen to honey bees during a dearth period.

Actaea racemosa,Ranunculaceae. Known as black cohosh, black bugbane, black snakeroot and fairy candle. Shot at Chicago Botanic Garden, IL

Rubus fruticosus aggregate, Rosaceae.

Conoclinium coelestinum, Asteraceae. Formally as Eupatorium.

Eucalyptus kruseana, Myrtaceae. Kruse's Mallee, Bookleaf Mallee. Shot in the street of Las Vegas. About 3 minutes south of Caesar's Palace.
