Ambrosia artemisiifolia, Asteraceae. By far the worst pollen for causing allergies...I used to smell it a mile away! I was vacationing in northern Michigan (near Bellaire) and saw one bee foraging on ragweed -- i have been searching for this for years! I kept waiting for that bee to come back to ragweed because she got away first I saw her. luckily she came back to work on a ragweed. She flew away 3 times, the first 2 times came back to ragweed, but the third time she did switch to and stayed on golden rod, only then again came back to ragweed again...so I am not sure if the bright yellow pollen was mixed with ragweed or mostly goldenrod. Should have captured her and obtain the pollen to come back and study.
